Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge Visit this National Wildlife Refuge - this birding & nature trip will require paddling a canoe.. Canoes are required, canoes, lifejackets & paddles will be provided at no extra charge. All participants will be required to paddle. Cat Island is home of the National Champion Baldcypress tree which will not be seen from this canoe trip due to its location. If the Mississippi River level is too low (not likely) for canoe, the trip will be on foot and the Champion Baldcypress could be seen. Reserve - guided field trip.
