The Feliciana Hummingbird Celebration will begin with a reception on Friday evening, July 27, at Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site. Beginning at 6 p.m., visitors can enjoy wine and cheese while strolling the gardens of Rosedown. Following the stroll enjoy a presentation from this year's speaker, Carlyle Rogillio.
SATURDAY - JULY 28, 2012
THERE WILL BE TWO VIEWING SITES STARTING AT 7:00AM UNTIL 3:00PM
Hummingbird Bilolgists Linda Beall and Nancy Newfield will capture and band birds at two private gardens. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe hummingbirds up close as they are weighed and measures. In addition vendors will be at obth homes with hummingbird plants. birding equipment, books, and feeders for sale. Experts will be on hand to share advice about gardening, binoculars and more. The gardens include the home of Carlisle Rogillio 15736 Tunica Trace (Hwy 66) and the home of Murrell Butler 9485 Oak Hill Rd.
